Summer Day Camp

The Cochrane & Area Humane Society is excited to welcome children 8 - 11 years old into the shelter this summer. If your child loves animals - this is the program for them. Not only will your child have positive experiences with animals, they will learn about animal characteristics, how to care for our pets and how to be responsible pet owners - all while having a lot of fun.

The camp runs 9:00am until 4:00pm, Monday - Friday and different themes each week mean your child can sign up for more than one week and have a different experience with every visit. Our camp fee is just $180 per week! Before and after camp care is also available.

Volunteer Camp Assistants Needed

This is a fun opportunity for adult volunteers, and a unique leadership opportunity for teens who love animals and children. Applicants must be 13 or older. Volunteers need to have some experience and a desire to work with children ages 8-11 Volunteers assist with prep work before and after class, clean up, assist with managing children's behaviour, and supervise lunch and before/after camp care times. They also help the teacher with animal lessons, art and games.

Volunteers can choose which week(s) they would prefer to work and must attend a training session. This training is mandatory for safety reasons.
