Pet Photos With Santa
December 24, 2003 - Thank you to Cochrane Ford for holding their first annual Pet Photos With Santa! They have kindly donated proceeds to the Cochrane Humane Society and we are grateful to have been the recipients. If you missed out this year, watch for it next year!
Pet Life Stores of Cochrane
November 18, 2003 - On November 15th Pet Life presented the Cochrane Humane
Society with a $2500 donation which is a portion of their sales for the year
2003. Of course the Society is thrilled by this generous gift and sends a
warm thank you to Pet Life for considering the shelter animals throughout
the year. Tracy Keith, Executive Director accepted the cheque from Eleanor
and Lucy (in black) of Pet Life. Thanks again Pet Life!

September 15, 2003 - Watch for some of our special pets available for adoption on Shaw TV's Pet of the Week or check out their website for live features. This month watch for Kokanee, Mike, Dozer and Fancy.
Calgary Foundation & The Sherling Animal Welfare Fund
September 14, 2003 - A warm thank you to the Calgary Foundation & The Sherling Animal Welfare Fund for providing funds for our service improvement project. These funds have already made an enormous difference at the shelter!
Imperial Oil Foundation
September 10, 2003 - Thanks to the Imperial Oil Foundation for awarding us the Volunteer Involvement Program grant and to Board Member Donna Watmough for applying on our behalf!
Cochrane Lions Club
June 5, 2003 - A big thank you to the Cochrane Lions Club for their significant
contribution to our Animal Welfare Programs. We are very appreciative of
their donation and the funds will be put to good use.
2003 Annual General Meeting and Volunteer Appreciation Evening
Our Annual General Meeting was held on May 20th at the Boys and Girls Club
of Cochrane. Attendance at the meeting was fair and our volunteer recognition
evening that followed the meeting was excellent thanks in part to great eats
catered by Director Elizabeth Young. Volunteers were presented with a charming
gift as a token of the Board’s appreciation. Thank you to everyone who attended!

April 10, 2003 - We would like to thank the following organizations for the grants they have recently awarded to us:
- The Cochrane & District Community Foundation for their grant support of our Foster Home Program.
- The Government of Alberta for Alberta Lottery funding towards our Capital Campaign initiatives.
- The Donner Canadian Foundation for awarding us a grant to assist with our Animal Care Program.

Safeway Because We Care Program
February 22, 2003 - Cochrane Safeway and the Cochrane Humane Society kicked
off the Because You Care program for 2003. We are grateful to Cochrane Safeway
for choosing the Cochrane Humane Society as their charity of choice for this
program. The kick off was a huge success with donations exceeding $1000 on
that one day alone. A delicious cake with the Humane Society's Dog Ambassador
Gus pictured on it, was enjoyed by many including Gus! Thanks to Dino and
the gang at Safeway from all of us at the Cochrane Humane Society!
Gus's Give a Gift Campaign
Recently the Cochrane Humane Society was contacted by Mitford Middle School – Mrs. Turner’s class – offering to take on a project to assist our shelter. We came up with the idea, set some guidelines and turned it over to the students. The project was called “Gus’s Give a Gift Campaign”. The students collected empty wine boxes, decorated them and filled them with appropriate gifts and food for either a cat or a dog. The filled boxes were presented to Gus on December 20th along with a cheque for $105. On behalf of all the animals that spent Christmas at the shelter – thank you to Mitford Middle School!
