Kiba Akita Inu X Female 9mo

Kiba is a confident mid-sized dog looking for a home that can provide her with positive leadership. Kiba is a smart dog and needs to be kept busy with her energy channelled into good things. She is a playful and somewhat unique looking dog with lots to offer the right home. Kiba will make a loyal and rewarding pet for the person wanting to keep active with their dog and do lots of fun stuff with them. She responds very well to a calm, experienced and confident handler and has started learning her basic commands here at the shelter.
One of our wonderful volunteers has been taking Kiba out for exercise and has noted that she is a really great running partner. Kiba seems to really enjoy the pace and is a pleasure to run with! Are you looking for a willing running mate who will always be eager to head out with you?

Jacob German Shepherd X Male 1yr

Jacob is a wonderful, happy go lucky boy. He is great to walk on a leash, house trained, LOVES car rides, is a very quiet boy and knows most of his basic commands very well, such as sit, wait, down, come, "watch me" , take it / leave it and a few others. Jacob loves to meet people out on his daily walks and gets excited and happy about almost everything in his day. It is almost impossible to walk Jacob without breaking out in laughter at his silly antics! He bonds to his handler quickly and is very responsive even when distracted. He is very devoted to his person and a real love bug. He is fun to work with as he catches on to new things very fast and with great exuberance. Jacob needs an adult home that will return his devotion and love and provide him with positive leadership, consistency and life long training (he would be great at agility too by the way). Jacob would like to be the only pet in the home as he has a hard time sharing his food and treats. He is currently on a training program to teach him how to share his things and in a short time has already made huge progress. Jacob will be a great addition to the right family that is willing to put in a little extra time to help him continue with his progress. He will repay his new family with unconditional love, an amazing personality and a day full of laughs! Jacob's new family will need to be prepared to meet him a few times before adoption, read the "mine" book and  be willing to enroll Jacob in a specialty obedience class held in Calgary.

Zoe German Shepherd X Female 2yr

Zoe

Although Zoe is a pretty good size, she has been known to try to be a lap dog from time to time! Zoe was surrendered to the shelter because she chased livestock on her farm home, so her forever home will not have livestock or give her access to livestock. Zoe can be described as having a beautiful soft coat and gorgeous features. She has also been described as calm, quite, cuddly, great with people and she knows her basic commands (especially if there is food reward involved). Zoe can be very playful and puppy like at times and was good with cats in her previous home. Although she has been labelled as good with kids she can knock over real small children because of her size and love for life!

Toby Lab.Retriever/Collie X Male 2yr

Toby has been described here as "a big goof" at times, but is also a lot of dog and is looking for an experienced home. Although we really love him here and see huge potential for him, he does need consistency and an experienced handler to get him to be that wonderful dog we all want. Toby is a playful guy and has plenty of energy to burn, he walks quiet nicely on leash and can be a true gentleman at times.

Nessa Husky/Shepherd X Female 1yr

Nessa has been a pleasure to have at the shelter. Although quite scared the first few days she came in, she was always good to handle and did warm up to everyone quickly. Nessa has a playful side to her and will likely do well in a loving home that provides her with the exercise and care she needs.

Kenai Lab Retriever X Male 10mo

Kenai is a lovely boy who has been working on his self confidence while staying here at the shelter. Kenai is affectionate and will likely bond very quickly with his new owners. Kenai is a strong boy and he does need a little bit of work walking without pulling on a leash, but he loves to be out and about and is looking for someone who will take him for lots of walks. Enrolling in a basic obedience class is recommended as it would be a great bonding and learning experience for Kenai and his new family. He will likely do best in a calm home, with patient people that have lots of time and love for their family dog. Come in today and meet this handsome gentleman.

Darwin Lab Retriever X Male 9mo

Darwin's sweet little ways make us laugh. Although he is a bit shy and not overly confident you can tell he is just dying to "let his hair down" if only he could muster the courage. Darwin will win the hearts of his new family when given the chance and would benefit from some training in a loving environment.

Maggie Lab Retriever X Female 1y

Maggie is a lovely dog waiting for a devoted family to take her home soon - she would love to have her own home and Christmas tree this year! Maggie has been a pleasure to have here in our care, she is very friendly and an all around nice girl. She will benefit from some training and a loving family who will provide love, food and consistency in her life.

Tate Shepherd/Shar-pei X Male 2mo

Tate is pretty cute right now with all his Shar-Pei wrinkles and " I really don't care much" expression. He is looking for a loving forever home to provide all the care and attention he will need to grow up happy and healthy.

Tucker Shepherd/Shar-pei X Male 2mo

Tucker doesn't seem to have many worries right now either - he will give you a big wet kiss though if you come near and try to give him a hug!

Harriet Shepherd/Shar-pei X Female 2mo

Harriet is affectionate and playful and has great fashion sense.

Wyatt Shepherd/Shar-pei X Male 2mo

Wyatt is friendly, playful and feisty and seems to go out of his way to be sure he is "looking good"!
