Board of Directors

Founded in 1998, the Cochrane & Area Humane Society (CAHS) operates with the philosophy of giving all adoptable animals a second chance at life. Along with 15 employees (10 full time equivalents) and over 150 volunteers, the CAHS Board of Directors is a dedicated group of volunteers who serve the organization in two year terms, to a maximum of six years.

The responsibility of the CAHS Board is to ensure that the shelter is managed in the best interests of the animals in the shelter’s care. Our goal is to maintain strong governance principles that are essential for supporting CAHS management in providing high quality care for animals in need and increasing public awareness and confidence in the Cochrane & Area Humane Society. More information is available in our Business Overview and our Philosophy Statement.

The Board is currently recruiting new members! If you are interested in donating time and support to a great cause, a volunteer position on the Board might be right for you. Ideally, it would be great if you had any of the following skills, certification or experience:
