Behaviour Consultations & Private Behaviour Courses
Don't give up on your pet! Our animal behaviour coordinator can help you work with your dog's issues.
Following the completion of our questionnaire our staff will meet with you and your dog for a one-on-one session to discuss and thoroughly assess current issues and identify problem areas; working together in a comfortable, stress free environment towards realistic goals. We will work together as a team to plan a successful rehabilitation program, using proven positive reinforcement methods that will teach you the skills to manage and work with common and complex behaviour problems.
Examples of common & complex behaviour issues:
- Excessive barking and/or growling
Chewing and other destructive behaviours
Separation distress
Fear of new people/places or things
Rough play, nipping, jumping, mouthing
Excitability or distress in vehicles
Food or Toy guarding
Leash reactivity towards people or other animals
House training or marking
Introducing new pets to children
Introducing new pets to existing pets
Crate training
Recall problems, pulling on leash
Any other behaviour that is unwanted
Consultation Prices & Packages
Single (60-90) minutes - $125 ($100 for CAHS adoptees)
Additional (60) minutes - Each session $100 ($75 for CAHS adoptees)
In Home Consultations - We will come to your home for a private consultation on a case by case basis for flat rate of $50 and an additional .50 cents per kilometre round trip from our facility to your residence. This fee is in addition to the private consultation package charge.
Appointments are made on a first-come, first-serve basis and are available:
Wednesdays 12:30 - 3:30pm
Thursdays 9:30am - noon
Fridays 12:30 - 6:00pm
Saturdays 9:00am - noon

Fees are non refundable
We require 24 hours notice if you are unable to keep appointment. We will be happy to reschedule.
Failure to keep an appointment or provide adequate notice may constitute forfeiture of fees rendered.

Behaviour Courses
Living with Reactivity - $200 ($150 for CAHS adoptees) Two one-hour sessions
This two-session private course is designed for owners who are living with, or planning on adopting a leash reactive dog. We will help you understand the behaviour and teach you the skills to safely and effectively manage this behaviour. Sessions are held at the CAHS off site training center located downtown Cochrane, or at the on-site training center at 62 Griffin Industrial Point as determined by staff. Fees are non-refundable.
Working with Reactivity - $200 ($150 for CAHS adopttes) Four half-hour sessions
This four-part private course is the next step after Living with Reactivity. During these private sessions, we will continue to strengthen the skills learned in level one and work on increasing your dog’s confidence and decreasing reactivity.
Sessions are held at the CAHS off site training center located downtown Cochrane, or at the on-site training center at 62 Griffin Industrial Point as determined by staff. Fees are non-refundable.
Living with Fear - $200 ($150 for CAHS adoptees) Two one-hour sessions
This two-session private course is designed for owners who are living with or planning on adopting a fearful dog. We will help you understand the behaviour and teach you the skills to start building your dog’s confidence and establish a trusting relationship so that your dog can start enjoying his world!
Sessions are held at the CAHS off site training center located downtown Cochrane, or at the on-site training center at 62 Griffin Industrial Point as determined by staff. Fees are non-refundable.
